How to upload & share video on Twitter

It’s easy, really! Uploading and sharing videos through Twitter is actually quite simple. However, I recently met a friend who has no idea how to upload and share videos on Twitter. So, this guide is for you, mate!

Using videos has many advantages. Not only does it make things easier, but it also gives you more avenues to build a bigger and better network and make more friends.

1. If you simply want to share a video (and not necessarily upload your own), you may use URL shortening services like bit.ly or tinyural.com.

If uploading to YouTube or Daily Motion isn’t your preference and you want to share your own video elsewhere, these video-sharing sites are designed specifically for Twitter users like you

2. Twiddeo

Twiddeo, once a popular video-sharing platform, is no longer operational. It ceased operations sometime in 2012-2013.

Here’s how it used to work: To get started with Twiddeo, you could log in with your Twitter account. It offered flexibility for uploading videos – you could upload from your computer, send them in from your phone, or even record directly from your webcam.

3. yfrog

yfrog was a service run by ImageShack that let you share your photos and videos on Twitter. Easy to use, yfrog also let you retweet. Your friends will be able to retweet easily any yfrog post directly from the landing page. (Update on March 25, 2024: yfrog shut down in 2015)

4. Tweetube

This used to be a one-stop sharing solution on Twitter. In other words, sharing videos, pictures, and links was possible. You could also share YouTube videos or even create one with your webcam (no more than 25 seconds, that was the catch) and instantly share it on YouTube (currently available for Mac users only). According to Crunchbase, Tweetube closed operations and ceased to exist.

5. 12seconds

This is a neat way to share videos using your phone, webcam, or email. It also offers widgets and embed codes for sharing on your blog or Myspace.

6. Mobipicture

It allows you to directly share your videos (along with photos, text, and audio) with your friends on Twitter, as well as other sites like Facebook, Flickr, Vimeo, YouTube, WordPress, Blogger, and more.

That’s all for now! These are the sites I’m currently aware of that allow you to share and upload videos on Twitter. If you know of any exciting video-sharing platforms I haven’t mentioned, feel free to drop me an email at [email address removed] or leave a comment below.
